A year ago, a boy named Caine built a cardboard arcade in his dad’s shop in LA.
A film maker decided to do a flash mob to get people to come play his games. It went viral, big time.
Much has happened in the year since. The Imagination Foundation was formed, and is launching the first ever Global Cardboard Challenge, inviting the world to play while raising funds to foster creativity and entrepreneurship in kids.
September will be the month to organize and build, then on October 6th (the one-year anniversary of the flashmob that came out to make Caine’s day) friends, family, co-workers and community members can come out to play at local events, celebrating the creativity and imagination of kids around the world.
Watch the video and you’ll understand…
We at Kidbot love the idea – we were thinking about putting on the Challenge, but there’s already one in Austin, so we’ll just show up there and add our energy instead of having our regular Saturday meeting on Oct 6th.
